Performance: Clarification on the direction of the performance limits

The Performance class does not clearly describe which dimension is limited by the specified values.

The OpenSCENARIO V1.2.0 Model Documentation mentions that the Performance class is a "Container for Performance values of a vehicle."

So my basic question is, whether those performance limits are limited to any direction, e.g. only longitudinal? If they only hold for the longitudinal direction, the meaning of maxAcceleration, maxDeceleration, and maxSpeed should maybe be clarified for reverse driving vehicles.
