Review feedback: ENUM movement_mode issues and contradictions.
Subject
ENUM Movement_mode common parameter for all modifiers seems to be in contradiction to physical_movement() modifier
Section
8.9.20 and standard.osc file.
Description
Movement_mode common parameter for all modifiers seems like some contradiction to the physical_movement() modifier .
Looking at history, the project started with this parameter in all modifiers but later the physical_movement modifier was introduced, so maybe this one should have been removed. This parameter doesn't make sense for two main reasons:
- The default doesn't make sense. default should be real life/physical movement.
- Its usage implies need to re-specify that you want objects to behave according to the laws of physics, on every modifier out there – this is not an efficient usage model. .
To conclude:
*So, lets start with the fact the **default for movement_mode is wrong ( should be physical ** rather than “other” *) I want a single modifier to say once how it should behave, and default should be real life movement.
Suggestion
Remove it from the standard. The physical_movement() modifier supplies all needs.
